Live in no time for new 3PL
From first contact to Go-live in just three months. A whole new logistics center, a new customer, and a completely new WMS. A big assignment with a tight deadline, but thanks to clear communication, everything went smoothly.
3PL ToExcel was founded last year. Their first assignment? aking care of fulfillment for ToExplore, an e-commerce company specializing in outdoor shoes and clothing, active in Western Europe. “We had to set up our premises in Wijchen, move, and choose a WMS,” says Nico Haverkort of ToExcel. “And all of it between January and the end of February. So, in addition to costs and possibilities, lead time was important for us when choosing a WMS.”
Good reviews and a good connection
With all his experience in logistics, Nico was already familiar with Vanboxtel. In November, he visited our stand at the ICT & Logistics fair. “I was looking for something that does what it's supposed to do, at normal rates. And at Vanboxtel, you can drop by anytime. That's important: when everything is on fire, I don't want to waste time filling out forms.”
Workshops: practical and possibility to adapt quickly
Vanboxtel and ToExcel kicked off their collaboration at the end of December with a workshop. This helped clarify what needed to be done, says senior account manager Ruud van Gastel: “Implementing a WMS is a team effort. The logistics processes are important, but in this case we didn't even have a physical location to work from. So you have to communicate well.”
In every project, the WMS is fed by an ERP. We also integrated with nShift for consumer orders. “Because ToExplore was able to quickly connect to our standard interface, we were able to get things done fast,” says project leader Pim van Daal of Vanboxtel.
Testing and launch
They started testing in January. “The first shipment arrived at the end of February. One storage rack was ready, and the rest was built while we went live,” says Pim. The B2B flow was followed by the B2C flow in mid-March.
Nico appreciates the speed with which everything was set up: “You can formally define everything, but you can also work side by side and help each other. By doing the right things at the right time with the right people, you can make real progress.”
Reliable system, committed people
In addition to the system, Vanboxtel also supplied the hardware. “That's the advantage of having a single point of contact: if something doesn't work, it doesn't matter whether it's software or hardware. We fix it,” says Ruud.
Ready for growth
ToExcel is now running at full speed. “Our KPI shows that we are operating at 99.91%. That's much better than the previous service provider. And that's been the case from day one,” says Nico. With the Vanboxtel WMS, ToExcel is now ready for growth.
