The ultimate deciding factor in their search was the ability of Vanboxtel’s WMS to independently onboard customers to the new system at their own pace. VIM's challenge also involved an international aspect: VIM's customers need to be able to ship shipments worldwide through the WMS—from Korea to New Zealand and Qatar. This includes the appropriate customs arrangements and paperless invoices. As a total warehouse solution for VIM, the warehouse management system was integrated with carriers. This seamless integration with both B2B and B2C channels enables VIM to be flexible in their choice of carriers and meet the requirements of international shipments.
The WMS is not only scalable but also extremely reliable, providing VIM and their customers with a stable foundation for steady growth. High uptime is crucial. The warehouse, as part of the larger logistics chain, cannot afford any risk of processes coming to a halt. Both their customers and their customers' clients would directly feel the consequences. "So far, all releases have been completed on time. It should also be noted that the system has not experienced any downtime. These are things that I, as the operational manager, truly appreciate," said Jan den Dekker.
Jan emphasizes that this is a long-term, strategic partnership between VIM and Vanboxtel, based on continuous development, support, and communication. There are short lines of communication; engagement with relevant specialists; and there is use of an organized ticketing system that allows for effective prioritization. Moreover, transparent discussions about future desires and developments are consistently held. Both parties aim to implement new functionalities and improvements in a structured manner, using sprints to create a clear timeline. After all, there are still plenty of ideas on the horizon.
